In 2001, Nudie Jeans was born, thanks to a chance encounter that Maria Erixon Levin, the brand's founder and designer, had with a fabric sample from Kaihara during a fabric week in Brussels. Impressed by the fabric's quality, Maria built the entire brand around the "Dry Selvage" denim from Kaihara, a testament to her talent and vision for denim. The fabric owes its unique aging properties to the Kaihara Mill's expertise in indigo dyeing and kasuri production, making it a standout in the world of denim.
Crafted by one of the finest denim mills in the world, the Kaihara Mill has been producing high-quality fabrics for over 70 years. Their mastery of indigo dyeing gives the "Dry Selvage" denim its distinctive crispiness and rich indigo tone.
